Illinois Football raises $28,500 in support of Acoustic Neuroma awareness and research

The 2017 Fighting Illini Lift for Life was a big success on Friday morning.

Illinois football’s yearly collaborations with Uplifting Athletes have gone pretty well in the past, but their 2017 event exceeded expectations! With your help, the Fighting Illini raised about $28,500 worth of funds in support of acoustic neuroma awareness and research, shattering last year’s mark of $21,500.

Based on the above tweets from the football team, Team Crouch won the actual weight-lifting contest between the eight squads. However, the real winners on Friday came from Team Allegretti because they managed to raise a staggering $9,241 of donations.

TCR sponsored Team Turner in our annual fundraising battle against Illini Board. With your help, we collected a total of $1,640 — that’s pretty fantastic! Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to top our competitors as Team Marchese came out on top with a valiant $4,250.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed! Rest assured, it was for a great cause.
