Five-star point guard and Fighting Illini basketball recruiting target Courtney Ramey (MO) has given a verbal commitment to Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals. The Webster Groves (St. Louis) product took an unofficial visit to Champaign on August 27, and he received his Illinois scholarship offer fairly early in the process.
Ramey had previously ‘narrowed’ his list of schools to Arkansas, Florida, Louisville, Marquette, Kansas State, Illinois, Texas, Creighton, Northwestern, USC, Missouri, Iowa State and Ohio State on January 16.
According to Scout, Ramey is the No. 19 overall player in the class-of-2018. There’s a considerable gap when examining 247Sports’ composite ranking, though, as the 6-foot-3 guard has been given a four-star rating at No. 64 overall.
