Former Illinois star wide receiver Arrelious Benn has re-signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was announced Wednesday. Per a report from the Florida Times-Union, the contract is for the 2017 season with a team option for the following year.

The upcoming season will be Benn’s third with the Jags, after signing with the club in 2015. Benn spent the 2015 season on injured reserve, but played in 15 games last year. He caught five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown, including a 51-yard touchdown grab against Chicago.

Benn was also a valuable member of the Jags’ special teams units, recording five tackles on the year.

After years of injuries kept Benn off the field, here’s hoping the former Illini star can keep up his success in Florida.
