Three-star defensive end Bobby Roundtree (FL) was the biggest Signing Day addition for Fighting Illini football, however he wasn’t the only prospect to join the program. Amidst the early-morning flood of signings, three-star defensive end Jamal Woods (AL) flipped from Memphis to Illinois, making him the 25th and final member of the recruiting class.
According to 247Sports, Woods is the No. 2015 overall prospect in the class-of-2017; he held additional scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas, Western Kentucky, Army, and Louisiana-Lafayette.
SIGNED: DL from Alabama.

Woods originally committed to the Tigers on July 27. Lovie Smith extended a scholarship offer on December 1, and that eventually led to a late official visit on January 27 that evidently inspired this change-of-heart.

Note: JUCO quarterback Dwayne Lawson will not be announced until he completes his required degree; he’s hoping to enroll at Illinois before Summer.
