He has 15 tweets and only 232 followers. His Twitter avatar looks like a picture of a photo on a computer screen. And nobody had him on a recruiting radar, at least for Illinois.
But then came what will forever be known as “the tweet.”

Who? you’re probably asking. That’s what we were asking, too.
But then we read up a little on Brown, a kid from London, Ontario, and then moved to Florida (Illinois’ seventh signee from the Sunshine State so far on Early Signing Period day), and he’s impressive.
Just watch the film that Illinois Football tweeted out.

The first play is him coming literally out of nowhere and onto the screen to make a touchdown-saving tackle. He’s quick and not that big, but he can absolutely get anywhere over the field as a defensive back, adding to Illinois’ somewhat week secondary after transfers and the graduation of Jaylen Dunlap.
At 6-foot, 185 pounds, 247 doesn’t have Brown listed with any other offers or having ever taken a visit to a school. Nope, all he has on his profile is a commitment and signing to Illinois on Wednesday morning.
So, assuming he’s real (UPDATE: he’s real), “Mystery Kid” Brown looks like a total win, and surprise, for Illinois’ staff on the first morning of signings.
