The 6-foot-10 Champaign native had been growing his hair since last season, and his flowing hair and man bun made him the most recognizable player on Illinois.
According to a Daily Illini article from Feb. 2017, former Illinois head coach John Groce never had a problem with Finke’s hair, but his parents were a different story.
“Both parents hate it,” Finke said in the article. “My mom liked it a little a few months ago, but now she hates it and wants me to cut it, but I think that’s honestly why I’m going to keep it growing.”
At the time, Finke had no plans to cut his hair, but with the fourth-year junior done with his undergraduate degree, it was time to cut the locks.
