The Fighting Illini women’s basketball team is 12 games into its first season under new Head Coach Nancy Fahey, and things good be a lot worse.
Illinois is coming off of a three-game win streak, picking up victories over Memphis, Indiana State, and Detroit Mercy. If the Illini can manage to extend that win streak against their next opponent, Austin Peay, the team will match its win total from last season at nine games.
A familiar face in Junior Alex Wittinger continues to lead the way for Illinois, averaging 13.3 points per game. Meanwhile, Sophomore Brandi Beasley has been controlling the on-court pace, dishing out a team-high 3.8 assists per game.
