The Illini will play Hawaii on Friday night in the Washington Regional. If Illinois wins, they will play either LIU Brooklyn or No. 8 Washington.
Illinois made the tournament under first-year head coach Chris Tamas. Tamas took over in the spring after Kevin Hambly took one of nation’s premier volleyball coaching jobs at Stanford.
The team gathered at Tamas’ house to watch the selection show.

Illinois went 21-10 this year and 12-8 in conference play. They finished the season with three straight wins, including a home sweep versus Iowa.
The Illini missed the tournament last season.

We’ll have more coverage throughout the week leading up to Illinois’ match with the Rainbow Wahine.
