Midway through the third quarter of the Illinois Fighting Illini vs Ohio State Buckeyes game, the Illini found the endzone in an unexpected way. Stanley Green found Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins in the backfield and delivered a big hit on the backup, causing the football to come out of Haskins’ grasp.
Illinois’ defensive back Ahmari Hayes saw the ball come free, and quickly scooped it up and ran for the endzone. The touchdown is the first fumble recovery touchdown for the Illinois defense this season, and the ninth fumble recovered by the Illinois defense this season.
Illinois trails Ohio State 45-7 at the end of the third quarter.
Ahmari Hayes scoops and scores for the Illini!!!
