Volleyball (18-9 overall, 9-7 Big Ten)

The Fighting Illini can not afford many more losses with the Big Ten Tournament coming up. The past week Illinois dropped both games against Michigan State and Michigan. In their first contest against the No. 8 Spartans the Illini struggled to find consistency, and dropped the match in straight sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-19). A trip south to Ann Arbor saw a different game but the same results.

After losing at Huff Hall in five sets last week, the Wolverines got revenge on the Illini at home. The match went five once again, as the two team’s traded sets. Sophomore Jacqueline Quade led the way for the Illini with 21 kills and five blocks.
