Illinois head coach Brad Underwood will end this week with zero commits in the class of 2018.

Four-star small forward/shooting guard Landers Nolley did not include Illinois in his final two schools Friday morning. His final two are Georgia and Virginia Tech.

Nolley will announce his commitment Saturday night at 8:00 p.m., according to recruiting expert Jake Weingarten.

Nolley included Illinois in his final four schools on Sept. 21.

The Illini had been very proactive in trying to lure the former Curie (IL) High School star to Champaign. Nolley had an official visit to the University in September and Illinois head coach Brad Underwood and his staff visited him at his Georgia house last month, as well.

Nolley, who stands at 6-foot-4, can play the two or three and would have been a perfect fit for Underwood’s run-and-gun offense.

Nolley originally planned the announcement of his commitment for Oct. 31.

The Champaign Room talked to Nolley last month. You can read his comments about having had the opportunity to play with fellow 2018 priority target Ayo Dosunmu and how he thought he could have fit in Underwood’s system here.

Priority targets George Conditt and Colin Castleton committed elsewhere to Iowa State and Michigan, respectively, earlier this week.
