Soccer (5-13 overall, 2-8 Big Ten)

The Fighting Illini soccer team played its last road game of the season this past week against the 6-5-6 Michigan Wolverines. The Illini were able to hold off the Wolverines in the first half behind four saves by goalkeeper Jaelyn Cunningham. Although, the second half was all Michigan as they found the back of the net three times. Illinois’ three shots on goal weren’t enough to put even a single point on the board, and it dropped their second-to-last game of the season, 3-0.

Next Week’s Schedule

10/25 - @ Iowa

Volleyball (16-5 overall, 7-3 Big Ten)

Illinois Volleyball began its week in Iowa City where it competed in a well-fought battle with the Hawkeyes. The match switched off set winners as it took the best of five for the Illini to walk away with a victory. Illinois scored five unanswered to end the fifth set and moved to a four game win streak.

However, Illinois couldn’t make it five as they dropped their next match to the No. 7 Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Fighting Illini struggled to keep up with the Huskers, only taking the second set, 26-24.
