Four-star wing Talen Horton-Tucker names finalists, includes Illinois Basketball

The Simeon star took an official visit to Champaign over the weekend.

Four-star wing Talen Horton-Tucker narrowed his college list on Sunday night to Illinois, Xavier, and Iowa State. The Simeon star was previously considering ten other programs, including Big Ten foes Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Horton-Tucker is currently the nation’s No. 109 overall prospect, although Rivals.com has slated the 6-foot-5 Chicago native considerably higher at No. 54.

Horton-Tucker wrapped up his official visit to Champaign on Sunday morning. Trips to Xavier (September 22) and Iowa State (October 13) have already occurred, presumably indicating that he’s on the verge of a final decision.

Brad Underwood and The Fighting Illini landed a verbal commitment from five-star guard Ayo Dosunmu on Thursday. Illinois is hoping to take advantage of an existing relationship with Horton-Tucker, and Dosunmu has already stated that he’s 100% willing to aid in recruiting efforts.

Illinois has at least two more available scholarships for the 2018 recruiting class, and Horton-Tucker is the most important target remaining on the board.
