Illinois football is making a change at quarterback for this Saturday’s game at Iowa, according to head coach Lovie Smith.
Smith did not specify if Jeff George Jr. or Cam Thomas will be the starter for Illinois. What he did make clear is that Chayce Crouch will not be the starter.
Crouch threw for less than 100 yards in Illinois’ 28-6 loss to Nebraska on Friday night.
“We take a lot of things into consideration,” Smith said of making the change. “In the end, it’s about production.”
Stay tuned for more coverage of this change.
