Vaughn, a sophomore, projected to lead the Illinois backfield in 2016 after the graduation of Josh Ferguson. Vaughn quickly lost carries in favor of Kendrick Foster and Reggie Corbin, and Vaughn was relegated to just a few touches per game.
For the season, Vaughn amassed 301 yards on 60 carries with three touchdowns.
In addition to Corbin and Foster, the Illini have Dre Brown returning from injury, in addition to two running back commitments in Mike Epstein and Ra’Von Bonner.
