Illinois Football snubbed from new AP Top 25

The Associated Press released their updated rankings on Tuesday.

The Associated Press released their updated college football Top 25 on Tuesday and, unbelievably, Illinois wasn’t included despite Saturday’s dominant 52-3 victory, which absolutely did not happen against a FCS team. While this news is bad enough, it’s only made worse upon realization that four teams with zero wins (Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, and LSU) somehow managed to receive votes ahead of the Fighting Illini.

Ok but actually, the Orange and Blue now sit at No. 62 in S&P+ rankings. So we're probably at least two or three wins away from seeing the program appear in the 'others receiving votes' category.

Elsewhere, five teams from the Big Ten — including previously unranked Wisconsin — were included on the new list. North Carolina, Illinois’ Week 2 opponent, also dropped out of the Top 25 following their 33-24 loss to Georgia.
