Illinois’ recent streak of offers to defensive backs continued on Thursday. Per his Twitter account, class-of-2017 cornerback Dallas Branch (CA) picked up a scholarship from the Orange and Blue.
The 5-foot-11 Los Angeles native isn’t rated by 247Sports, however Scout has him pegged as a two-star prospect. Branch currently has additional scholarship offers from Hawaii and Ball State.

"The first thing they all want to know is, ‘What’s the weather there?’" Nickerson said after using the recent bye week as a chance to introduce himself to West Coast prospects. "They’re surprised when I tell them, ‘Man, it’s cooler out here than it is in Champaign.’"
