While recapping a recent official visit to Scout’s Brandon Huffman, three-star defensive back Trajon Cotton (CA) mentioned that he’ll be in Champaign on November 5 to check out the Illinois Fighting Illini. The 6-foot, 185-pound Sacramento native is rated as the No. 611 overall player and No. 43 safety by 247Sports.
Cotton holds scholarship offers from Nebraska, Oregon, California, UCLA, Colorado, Arizona State, Utah, Memphis, and Washington State.

- Lovie Smith encourages players to speak out (Herald & Review)
"I want them to be involved in their community and what’s going on in their worlds. I want them to be involved in politics. They should support a candidate and know why. Be vocal about it."
- Gabe Megginson could return to action against Nebraska (The News-Gazette)
"Gabe is looking a lot better, I will say that," said [Lovie] Smith, normally tight-lipped about injuries. "Wednesday was our last practice. We took off Thursday and Friday. He ran pretty good (Sunday). I hope he’ll be back."
- Hopefully Illinois Basketball is good this Winter (Illini Board)
Simply put, Josh Whitman’s job becomes a lot less stressful if Illinois basketball can put together a respectable season in ’16-17. Illini fans really aren’t asking for much right now, but desperately need a good team to fill that void.
