Four-star small forward Abu Kigab announces Top 6 schools, includes Illinois Basketball

The Canadian's college list also features several West Coast schools.

Fighting Illini basketball has made the cut for another four-star prospect. Class-of-2017 wing Abu Kigab has announced a top six of Illinois, UCLA, Oregon, California, Tennessee, and USC. The 6-foot-7 Canadian is currently the No. 83 overall player in 247Sports' composite rankings. According to Scout's Evan Daniels, Kigab has already scheduled a September 10 visit to Eugene.

UPDATE (8/4 at 4:30pm)

According to Illini Inquirer's Derek Piper, Kigab will take an official visit to Illinois from September 16-18.

Kigab played on the Nike EYBL 17u circuit this Summer with the Oakland Soldiers. According to his game log, he averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

The Fighting Illini still have three available scholarships to use on the class-of-2017. While it appears a few other players may be above Kigab on the priority list, the program has been looking to add another wing. Nevertheless, this will be another name to keep an eye on as the coaching staff continues to schedule official visits for the coming months.
