We received a clearer look at the class-of-2017 on Wednesday morning, as Scout released their updated set of basketball rankings. Several Illinois-related prospects were included, but commits Jeremiah Tilmon (IL) and Trent Frazier (FL) headline this new Top 100 for the Orange and Blue.

2017 Illinois Targets (Scout Rankings)
Kris Wilkes (IN) - No. 18 (-1)
Jeremiah Tilmon (IL) - No. 19
Brian Bowen (IN) - No. 20 (-2)
Paul Scruggs (IN) - No. 31 (+6)
Trent Fraizer (FL) - No. 78 (-4)
Nojel Eastern (IL) - No. 90 (-21)
Justin Smith (IL) - No. 91 (-12)
V.J. Bailey (TX) - No. 99 (-24)
Elsewhere, four-star big man Mayan Kiir (FL) and four-star wing Abu Kigab (CA) fell just outside the rankings. Theo John (MN) and Victor Uyaelunmo (FL) were also included further down the list as three-star prospects.
Illinois commits Da’Monte Williams (IL) and Javon Pickett (IL) remained unranked, though they each held their statuses as four-star and three-star prospects, respectively.
The recruiting scene will continue to heat up as we approach November’s early signing period, but there’s actually only a small handful of opportunities left for evaluators and coaches to watch prospects. That’s why, in my opinion, post-Summer rankings are so important. There will be some late movement during high school season, sure but, this latest entry comes after what was essentially a three-month audition.
