Four-star wing Terrence Lewis down to Illinois Basketball, Marquette, UNLV, and Iowa State

The Wisconsin native visited Champaign in March.

Fighting Illini basketball has continued to stay involved with just about every prospect on their big board, and this trend continued on Tuesday. Four-star wing Terrence Lewis announced that Illinois, Marquette, UNLV, and Iowa State comprise his final list of four schools. The Wisconsin native is the No. 99 overall player in 247Sports' class-of-2017 composite rankings. Lewis visited Champaign in March, but it remains to be seen if he'll make an official return trip.

Lewis was named the 2015-16 Co-Player of the Year in the Milwaukee City Conference after averaging 21.9 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. As a result, the 6-foot-5 prospect had other scholarship offers from Auburn, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Minnesota, and several others.

Similarly to four-star forward Justin Smith, I'm not quite sure how Lewis would figure into Illinois' scholarship situation. The Illini could use another wing, sure but, their No. 1 target regardless of position is Jordan Goodwin; it's very unlikely that John Groce would exit that recruitment when the program is in such a great position. There can only be so many wings on one roster, and Lewis may just end up as one of the odd men out. The eventual order of official visits should tell us quite a bit in regards to how heavily Illinois is pushing for a commitment.
