While the weather was great in Champaign on Friday, Illini football was forced to move training camp practice indoors due to poor field conditions outside of Memorial Stadium. Luckily, the change of scenery wasn’t enough to prevent a few special guests from stopping by.
Former Illinois basketball coach and Hall-of-Famer Lou Henson was one of those visitors, as he was on hand to chat with Lovie Smith and his assistants.

Henson, 84, was recently appointed as a Special Advisor to New Mexico State (where he’s the Aggies’ all-time winningest coach). So it’s great to see that he’s still fully committed to impacting the lives of others!
Former Illini football greats Dana Howard and Carey Davis also stopped by practice to share some knowledge with the team.
