Three-star offensive lineman Zenden Dellinger (Fort Wayne, IN) narrowed his college list to four schools on Monday night, and he included Illinois football. The 6-foot-7, 280-pound prospect is also still considering Cincinnati, South Florida, and Harvard.

Dellinger is the No. 1021 overall player in the country and his other notable scholarship offers are from Toledo, Central Florida, Western Michigan, Columbia, and Yale. While we’re on the topic — I’m not exactly sure if Illinois’ offer still stands. The old coaching staff reached out in early February, and I can’t find any evidence of additional contact from Lovie Smith’s regime.
So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if there’s indeed mutual interest. And we may not have to wait long as Dellinger recently informed 247Sports that he’ll be making a decision in about a month.
Either way, the Fighting Illini are already off to a pretty nice start on the offensive line. Three-star tackle Vederian Lowe (IL) and three-star guard Larry Boyd (MO) have already committed to the program, and they both look like legitimate Power 5 prospects. There’s room for at least four more lineman, though, and interior slots will likely be the primary focus going forward.
