Fighting Illini basketball has a new player! On Thursday afternoon, former Creighton guard Drew Cayce announced that he'll be transferring to Illinois after just one season in Omaha. Cayce, a redshirt freshman, will become the Orange and Blue's third walk-on, joining senior guard Alex Austin and junior forward Cameron Liss.

The 6-foot-1 guard was also a walk-on for the Bluejays. Unfortunately, he didn't appear in any games during his first collegiate season, and he has yet to record any stats.
Prior to college, though, Cayce attended La Lumiere Prep in Indiana (the same program that produced Jalen Coleman-Lands and Jeremiah Tilmon). Per Illini Inquirer, he averaged 9.8 points and 2.8 assists per game as a senior captain two years ago.
So welcome, Drew! We're looking forward to seeing you in action at the State Farm Center.
