2017 point guard Paul Scruggs will take an unofficial visit to Illinois next week

Good morning. Welcome to the Orange Minute for Thursday, June 9.

One of Fighting Illini basketball's top targets will be visiting Champaign sometime next week. According to Zach Osterman, five-star point guard Paul Scruggs (Southport, IN) will be on hand for a campus visit. An exact date for the trip has yet to be reported.

The 6-foot-4 prospect is the No. 25 player in 247Sports' class-of-2017 rankings; the composite rankings, however, have him at No. 31 overall, which is technically four-star range. Scruggs narrowed his list to eight schools at the end of May, and he's recently been working on setting up a string of campus visits.
