Illinois Athletics and the Chicago White Sox have announced that 'Illini Night' will take place at U.S. Cellular Field on Friday, August 5 during a game against the Baltimore Orioles. The first 2,500 fans who purchase their tickets through WhiteSox.com will receive a special-edition orange and blue White Sox hat (pictured below).

Statement from Josh Whitman

"We are thrilled to be a part of Illini Night at U.S. Cellular Field on August 5. This is a great opportunity for fans of the Orange and Blue to show off their Illini Pride with a special Illini Sox hat, while getting to experience early batting practice and watching one of the most exciting teams in baseball."

So hurry up and buy your tickets if you want that cool hat! The promotion was announced on Sunday so I imagine they may be close to running out by now. Or, better yet, you can just stay at home that night to watch the Chicago Cubs score 30 runs against the Oakland Athletics. The choice is yours.
