Per his Twitter account, Fighting Illini football has picked up a commitment from three-star defensive tackle Ryan O'Malley (Libertyville, IL). Illinois was the first school to offer the six-foot-four, 250-pound prospect, but he was also receiving interest from Minnesota.
O'Malley is the second member of Illinois' 2017 recruiting class, joining three-star running back Mike Epstein (Fort Lauderdale, FL).

Scouting Report (Via Scout.com)
Kid with a nice frame who will only get bigger. Has the agility to avoid blocks and the strength to take them on head on when engaged. Gets tall at times and must play with consistent pad level, but when he gets low enough, he shows good strength and balance. Runs things down pretty well for a big guy. Plays hard and gives top effort.
