Fighting Illini football has officially lost a pretty talented offensive lineman. On Monday, three-star prospect Tre Johnson (Orlando, FL) flipped his verbal commitment in order to join new head coach Mark Richt at Miami (FL). Johnson originally committed to Illinois back in October, but his recruitment was still 'open' as he took visits to Eastern Carolina and Miami in January. So, clearly, this change of heart has been a possibility for several weeks now.

The Fighting Illini still have five other offensive lineman lined up in their latest recruiting class, including new three-star commit Eddy Fish (Groton, MA). Looking at the group as a whole, the class-of-2016 still ranks No. 68 nationally and No. 12 in the Big Ten according to 247Sports.
