The Illinois coaching staff remained hopeful about their chances for three-star defensive back Antwan Collier (FL) following his decommitment, but the Miami-Southridge product has officially opted to go elsewhere. Collier announced a verbal pledge to UCF via his Twitter page on Tuesday.

“What to thank God, my parents, and coaches for guiding me through this recruiting process. I have decided to make a decision on my future, and that will be to attend the The University of Central Florida. I will also be an early enrollee! #GoKnights”
While Collier had never taken a visit to Champaign, he had become the seventh member of Illinois’ 2017 recruiting class on August 1. He held other Power 5 offers from California, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, N.C. State, Nebraska, Oregon State, Purdue, and Utah at the time.
