The Canadian took an official visit to Champaign on September 16.

Fighting Illini basketball may be on the verge of adding another commitment. Four-star wing Abu Kigab (CAN) is set to announce his college decision on Friday after narrowing his college list to Illinois and Oregon; schools under previous consideration included UCLA, California, Tennessee, and USC. The 6-foot-7 Canadian is rated as the nation’s No. 135 overall player by 247Sports.

Kigab took an official visit to Champaign during the weekend of September 16-18. He told Illini Inquirer that it was a, "great experience." Dana Altman and the Ducks received their own campus trip on September 10.

Kigab played on the Nike EYBL 17u circuit this Summer with the Oakland Soldiers. According to his game log, he averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
