During his media session on Wednesday afternoon, Illinois head coach John Groce informed the media that senior guard Khalid Lewis will be active for the team's game against Michigan State on Thursday. Lewis has missed the last two games after being diagnosed with the mumps.
Groce: Khalid Lewis is going to be able to go (against Michigan State). #Illini

Lewis, who had taken over a majority of the minutes at point guard before his illness, is averaging 3.7 points and 3.2 assists per game. So this is pretty good news for an Illini team that's struggled to stay healthy this year.
Groce also provided brief updates on Mike Thorne Jr. and Leron Black.
#Illini Groce: Right now, Thorne has done nothing on the court. He won't until he is ready to do so. Black the same way.
