Bill Cubit and the Fighting Illini have received their fifth verbal commitment in the last two days. Three-star tight end Andrew Trainer (Alexandria, VA) is the latest to join the program, announcing his pledge via Twitter on Monday night. The six-foot-seven, 235 lb. prospect is a former Virginia commit, and held other offers from UConn, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Eastern Carolina.

Highlights (Junior Year)
It seems the Illinois coaching staff has made it a point to improve their situation at tight end, and they've done exactly that. With Trainer and Zarrian Holcombe (who's currently Illinois' top-rated recruit), the Illini will have two physical options in the passing game.
