"Now the next target Illinois is all in on is four-star small forward Xavier Sneed. The top 100 prospect from Missouri visited campus about a month ago and will now be deciding between the Illini, Kansas State and Xavier."

Even though the Illini have missed out on a number of basketball recruits in the class of 2016, they were able to land point guard Te'Jon Lucas the week, giving the Illini the point guard that they needed. That being said, Illinois could use all the help it can get in regards to getting recruits. That's where Xavier Sneed comes into play. One of the two "X-Men" that Illinois has been recruiting, he is between Kansas State, Missouri, and yours truly, Illinois.

The other "X-Man," Xavier Simpson, recently committed to Michigan, and hopefully Illinois isn't another X on Sneed's list (Get it? Sorry). The guard could provide some solid upside as a wing player, especially when players like Malcolm Hill and Kendrick Nunn graduate. For now, let's hope to keep the good fortunes coming and land this recruit!

"Rutgers sported an 8-0 record, and had not given up a single goal leading up to its match against the Illini. Illinois stepped up to the plate, defeating the Scarlet Knights 2-1 and moving to 7-2-1 on the season."

- Jon Joffe, Daily Illini

Illinois women's soccer got a big win over the 11th ranked Rutgers over the weekend. The Illini were coming off a disappointing road trip in which they tied the Hoosiers and lost 3-1 to Purdue, two teams that they were expected to beat. Despite last weekend's disappointment, Illinois was able to take down the Scarlet Knights. Allison Stuckey and Kara Marbury were the two Illini to score goals.
