Josh Maxson (Alabama football's director of communications), told TMZ Sports that Kiffin is still employed as the team's offensive coordinator. But even if Kiffin really became available, would Illinois consider taking a look at him?
Kiffin, who spent years as head coach for the Oakland Raiders, the Tennessee Volunteers, and USC Trojans could offer a very intriguing option for AD Mike Thomas. That being said, he's also experienced his fair share of failures both on and off the field. And as evidenced by appearances on ESPN's College Gameday, he isn't a huge fan favorite.
