What a turn around by Bill Cubit and the Fighting Illini. Via Twitter, two-star defensive end Brandon Jones has announced his commitment to Illinois. The Columbia, MO native, didn't have any other scholarship offers, but he was receiving interest from Iowa and Missouri.

Frankly, it's shocking that Bill Cubit and company managed to add another player to the fold just two days after Tim Beckman was fired. But then again, recruits probably had a very clear understanding of Beckman's job status at Illinois -- his firing may not have even come as a surprise to most of them. That could explain why several Illini verbals have already re-affirmed their commitments.
