According to a press release, former Fighting Illini guard Rayvonte Rice has signed a contract with Italian basketball club Scaligera Verona; they currently compete in the Serie A2 Gold, which is the country's second division. Rice averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game for the Illini last year.

After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft, Rice signed with the Chicago Bulls to play with the franchise's Summer League team. He saw limited playing time and totaled just 4 points and 9 rebounds in three games.
Living overseas will surely be challenge at first, but the good news for Rice is that the Scaligera Verona roster currently boasts two other Americans--Mario West (Georgia Tech, 2003-07) and Shane Edwards.
