Happy Friday, everyone! The Illinois athletic department has apparently been working on the Football team's 2025 and 2026 schedule because they just announced a future home-and-home series with the Duke Blue Devils.

The Fighting Illini will travel to Durham, North Carolina for the first matchup on September 6th, 2025. The second contest will be played in Champaign on September 12th, 2026.

The two schools have split two meetings with each team winning on their home field. The Blue Devils won the first contest 15-13 on Oct. 4, 1958, and the Illini won the most recent game 28-14 on Oct. 23, 1965.

Duke has yet to win a national football championship and has won 17 conference titles, including seven in the ACC and 10 in the Southern Conference. The Blue Devils are 3-8 in postseason bowl games with their last win in the 1961 Cotton Bowl Classic against Arkansas 7-6. They made the postseason the last three seasons after not making a bowl games since 1995.

Along with Duke, the Illini have scheduled future series with South Florida (2017/2018), Connecticut (2019/2020), Virginia (2021/2022), and Kansas (2023/2024)
