Malcolm Hill was named one of 22 players selected for USA Basketball's training camp roster ahead of the Pan American Games.

The Illinois guard is one of 16 college players and one of five current Big Ten players invited to the camp, joining Wisconsin's Nigel Hayes, Michigan State's Denzel Valentine, Maryland's Melo Trimble and Purdue's Isaac Haas. Wichita State's Fred van Vleet, a Rockford, Ill. native out of Auburn High School, was also invited to the camp.

The camp will be held July 7-12 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., and the U.S. team will train July 13-16 at the Chicago Bulls practice facility.

Only 12 of the 22 invitees will make the team to compete from July 21 to July 25 in the Pan American Games tournament in Toronto.

The Illini junior-to-be ranked second in scoring with an average of 14.4 points per game and third in rebound with 4.8 rebounds per game this past season for Illinois. He ranked 10th in the league in scoring with 15.1 points per game during his sophomore season.
