It came down to the very last match, but the Illinois Fighting Illini have defeated the UCLA Bruins in the Quarterfinals of match play at the 2015 Men's NCAA Golf Championship.
Freshman B1G Player of the Year Nick Hardy sealed the victory with a 1-UP win in his match. Coach Mike Small sent his three upperclassmen out first to lead the way, and lead they did as both Thomas Detry (1 UP) and Charlie Danielson (4 and 3) claimed two key points for the Illini.
Starting at 2pm CT this afternoon, Illinois will face the USC Trojans in their semifinal match.
