According to Corey Evans, sophomore forward Austin Colbert will be transferring to Old Dominion; he averaged 1.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game this year while playing just under 8 minutes per contest. Colbert originally announced his intent to transfer in April. He's the second player to leave Champaign this offseason as he joins junior guard Aaron Cosby, who announced he'll be headed to Western Kentucky as a graduate transfer.
Per source, Illinois transfer big Austin Colbert has signed with Old Dominion. Quality pick-up for the Monarchs in the paint @ny2lasports

Statement from John Groce (4/15/15):
"After meeting with Austin, he and I agree that it is in his best interest to pursue a fresh start and continue his education and basketball career at another institution. We are appreciative of the effort Austin gave during his time at Illinois, and we will fully support him and his family throughout the transfer process."

Colbert was a 4-star recruit when he originally committed to the Illini out of Gill St. Bernard School in Lakeville, CT. He selected Illinois over Villanova, Seton Hall, Miami, and Vanderbilt and helped solidify the program's 2013 recruiting class as one of the top 20 in the nation.
Things didn't go according to plan for Colbert during his time in Champaign, but we still wish him the best moving forward. Once an Illini, always an Illini.
