The Illini are officially headed to the NCAA Tournament. Dan Hartleb's squad was awarded with the No. 6 overall seed on Monday afternoon, which means that they'll host Regionals/Super Regionals in Champaign.

NCAA Tournament National Seeds:

  1. UCLA
  2. LSU
  3. Louisville
  4. Florida
  5. Miami
  6. Illinois
  7. TCU
  8. Missouri State

In the Champaign Regional, the No. 1 seed Fighting Illini will play No. 4 seed Ohio on Friday, May 29th at 7:00pm CT; No. 2 seed Notre Dame and No. 3 seed Wright State will face off as well. The four teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket.

The Champaign Regional has been paired with the Nashville Regional (Vanderbilt, Radford, Indiana, and Lipscomb). The winner of the three-game Super Regional will go to the College World Series in Omaha, NE.

Men's Tennis

Jared Hiltzik was eliminated in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championships on Sunday after a 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 loss to Wake Forest's Noah Rubin. Hiltzik was the first Illini to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals since Kevin Anderson in 2007

Miscellaneous

Former Illini pitcher Tanner Roark made his first start of the season for the Washington Nationals on Monday afternoon against the Chicago Cubs. Roark went five innings while giving up just three hits and one run to propel the Nationals to a 2-1 win.
