The No. 1 seed Illinois Fighting Illini (45-6-1) face the No. 8 seed Nebraska Cornhuskers (34-21) in the first round of the 2015 Big Ten Tournament. The two teams faced off against each other last weekend; Illinois 'swept' the shortened two-game series in Champaign. This is the program's eighth conference tournament appearance in ten seasons under head coach Dan Hartleb.

Illinois swept the top three Big Ten individual awards for the first time in school history on Tuesday. Dan Hartleb (Coach of the Year), Tyler Jay (Pitcher of the Year), and David Kerian (Player of the Year) each took home some hardware. The Illini also had six First Team All-Conference selections in Kerian, Jason Goldstein, Adam Walton, Casey Fletcher, Kevin Duchene, and Tyler Jay. Drasen Johnson was a Second Team selection and four others were named to the Third Team.

Starting Pitchers

  • Illinois: Junior LHP Kevin Duchene (10-1, 1.19 ERA)
  • Nebraska: Sr. RHP Chance Sinclair (6-7, 3.03 ERA)

We don't take things all that seriously around here, and you probably shouldn't either. That being said--just because we don't take things seriously, that doesn't mean you can say whatever the hell you want. No hate speak. Not toward any fellow commenters or anybody in general. We're all here to have fun and enjoy the game.
