Illinois Baseball took home nearly every award that the Big Ten had to offer.

Women's Basketball

The Illinois athletic department will ask a law firm to externally review the recent claims of medical mistreatment. According to Mike Thomas, the rest of the investigation will remain closed after a previous internal review.

Football

Former Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase has been hired as the program's assistant director of football operations. Scheelhaase will be replacing Juice Williams, who left Illinois on April 15th to join Georgetown's athletic development staff.

Baseball

Illinois swept the top three Big Ten individual awards for the first time in school history. Dan Hartleb (Coach of the Year), Tyler Jay (Pitcher of the Year), and David Kerian (Player of the Year) each took home some hardware.

The Illini also had six First Team All-Conference selections in David Kerian, Jason Goldstein, Adam Walton, Casey Fletcher, Kevin Duchene, and Tyler Jay. Drasen Johnson was a Second Team selection and four others were named to the Third Team.

No. 1 seed Illinois plays No. 8 seed Nebraska in the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday night at 5:00pm CT at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN. The game will be aired live on the Big Ten Network.

Men's Track and Field

Sprinter DJ Zahn has been named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year and coach Mike Turk was unanimously voted Coach of the Year.

The Illini won their first conference title since 1994 on Sunday after totaling 145 points over the course of the three-day competition.
