College Basketball April Recruiting Calendar

Welcome to recruiting season! The National Championship Game will be taking place on Monday night, but the first evaluation period is right around the corner. You can find the April calendar from the NCAA, clarification of specific recruiting periods, and important event dates below.

Quiet Period

Coaches are restricted from having any off-campus contact with recruits. The following is allowed:

• Unofficial visits
• Official visits
• Letters
• Emails
• Calls

Dead Period

Coaches can not meet face-to-face with recruits. The following is allowed:

• Letters
• Emails
• Calls
• College visits (but prospects cannot meet with the coaching staff)

Recruiting/Contact Period

Coaches can meet with recruits both on and off campus. Members of the coaching staff are also allowed to watch recruits at their games. The following is allowed:

• Unofficial visits
• Official visits
• Off-campus/home visits
• Letters
• Emails
• Calls
• Event viewing / evaluations during high school/prep/AAU competition

Evaluation Period

This is similar to the Recruiting/Contact Period, but coaches can't have any off-campus contact with recruits. The following is still allowed:

• Unofficial visits
• Official visits
• Letters
• Emails
• Calls
• Event viewing / evaluations during high school/prep/AAU competition

So those are the rules for April, but where will the recruits be playing? Below are the schedules for the three major AAU leagues--Nikes EYBL, Adidas Uprising, and the Under Armour Association.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that Illinois is a Nike school. Shoe companies aren't always the deciding factors in recruitments, but overall the Illini are more likely to land players from the Nike EYBL.

Nike EYBL

• Hampton, VA: April 10-12
• Lexington, KY: April 24-26
• Houston, TX: May 8-10
• Minneapolis, MN: May 22-25
• North Augusta, SC (Peach Jam): July 15-19

Adidas Uprising

• Dallas, TX: April 10-12
• Indianapolis, IN: April 24-26
• Las Vegas, NV (Summer Championships): July 22-26
• Atlanta, GA (Adidas Nations): May 1-3
• Houston, TX (Adidas Nations): May 15-17
• New York, NY (All-American Camp): July 15-17

Under Armour Association

• New Orleans, LA: April 10-12
• Louisville, KY: April 24-26
• New York, NY: May 22-24
• Atlanta, GA (Finals): July 15-18
