Illinois Basketball has extended a scholarship to 2016 center Nick Ward. The Columbus, OH native (Gahanna Lincoln) is listed at 6'9, 235 lbs. and is rated as the No. 52 overall recruit in 247Sports' composite rankings. Ward's also has offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

Like point guard, adding a big man is another huge priority for the Illini in this recruiting class. Ward is the fourth big man that the coaching staff has offered in the class of 2016; he joins Barret Benson, Isaac Humphries, Marques Bolden, and Joey Brunk.
