Jayson Tatum narrows list to 4 schools, excludes Illinois

Illinois is no longer in contention for one of the top high school prospects in the nation.

The first evaluation period of the 2015 recruiting calendar has just started and we already have some news. Top 2016 recruit Jayson Tatum narrowed his list to Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, and St. Louis while eliminating Illinois and Missouri among others. Tatum, who's currently the No. 3 overall prospect in 247Sports' Composite Rankings, currently attends Chaminade College Prep in St. Louis, MO.

Tatum was initially interested in Illinois because assistant coach Jamal Walker was teammates with his father at St. Louis. Unfortunately, back-to-back NIT appearances by the program made it an unrealistic destination for the future star.
