Jalen Coleman-Lands named to Jordan Brand Classic Roster

The Illini signee has been named to one of the most prestigious high school showcases in the country

Illinois Basketball signee Jalen Coleman-Lands has been named to the Jordan Brand Classic game, which is one of the most prestigious high school basketball showcases in the country. The game will be played on April 17th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Coleman-Lands, who has been sidelined with a hand injury for the past few weeks, will play on the 'East Team' with some of the best players in the country. His teammates include Villanova signee Jalen Brunson, Kentucky signee Charles Matthews, No. 2 prospect Jaylen Brown, No. 3 prospect Skal Labissiere, and No. 7 prospect Cheick Diallo. Overall, both rosters combined include 17 of the top 25 players in the class of 2015; you can view both rosters in their entirety here.

Here's what the game's website had to say about Coleman-Lands:

Arguably the best shooter in the 2015 class, Coleman is known for his range. However, he is not limited to just shooting beyond the arc, as he is an outstanding ball handler with strong moves to get to the hoop. The Indianapolis native has played on the Nike EYBL circuit with All-Ohio and participated in the Nike Skills Academies. Coleman has committed to play for John Groce at the University of Illinois.

Coleman-Lands, who committed to the Illini back in September, is rated as the No. 35 player in the class of 2015 by 247Sports; along with D.J. Williams, Aaron Jordan, and Darius Paul he's a member of a current top-10 recruiting class for Illinois.
