According to FootballScoop, Illinois tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Alex Golesh is leaving the Illini to join Matt Campbell's new staff at Iowa State. Golesh, who had just completed his fourth season as a member at Illinois, was also named a top-10 recruiter in the Big Ten by Rivals.com and Scout.com in both 2013 and 2015.

Though somewhat expected given the recent events at Illinois, this is a huge blow.
Prior to joining the Illini with Tim Beckman, Golesh (and Campbell) held positions at Toledo from 2009-2011. So the move presumably makes perfect sense for Golesh, who will jump ship from the uncertainty in Champaign for a far more stable situation in Ames.
We'll make sure to keep you updated as this situation develops.
