According to a press release from the Illinois athletic department, freshman linebacker Julian Jones has been indefinitely suspended from the football team. Jones was apparently involved in an alleged crime that took place in his home state of Georgia during the team's October 16-18 bye weekend.
The University will not be commenting further on the matter.
Jones, who was a three-star prospect coming out of high school, has recorded three tackles in eight games this season while primarily taking the field with the kickoff coverage unit.
