Illinois wide receiver Mikey Dudek will redshirt the 2015 season

In a sideline report during the Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Wisconsin Badgers football game, the Big Ten Network reported during their broadcast that sophomore Mike Dudek redshirt, meaning Illinois' best wide receiver will officially miss the rest of the 2015 football season.

Dudek suffered a torn ACL during a non-contact drill in during Spring practice, and has not played at all this season. He told Big Ten Network's Lisa Byington on the sideline today that his recovery process has been coming along great; He's been able to run routes, cut, juke, and take part in non-contact rehab.

"I actually feel faster, but my leg does fatigue a little bit."

We certainly wish Mikey and the Fighting Illini training staff all the best in their rehab efforts, and look forward to seeing Dudek represent the orange and blue again next season.
